Backfilled Post
Today is the day I will become a member of the EOGD (Essoteric Order of the Golden Dawn.)
The Golden Dawn was a group that existed in the 1800's that performed a variety of esoteric rites and had a system for connecting to higher sources.
The Golden Dawn is based on a framework of Kabbalah, and it's initiatory structure follows the Sepherot of the Tree of Life.
I came across this modern group through a flyer in a book I bought at a Border's Bookstore in Rancho Cucamonga (at Victoria Gardens.)
I bought the book with some gift cards I got for Christmas (from some co-workers.) That simple gift card, cuased me to buy a book, which caused me to find a flyer... which caused me to call the number and see the website: http://www.esotericgoldendawn.com/ email some people and ultimately decide to join the Essoteric Order of the Golden Dawn.
What drew me to the Golden Dawn was the God based belief system. That's something not in Buddhism. I dont feel I'm leaving Buddhism, but rather adding a God Based belief to it.
I'll post more, once I have passed the initiation tonight. I'm nervous. But there's no going back.
